In Forest (Brussels), the Wiels Marshes are stirring up passions to develop a public green space bringing biodiversity and a healthy meeting environment for city dwellers. The project was designed around the traces of the former Wielmans-Ceuppens brewery. The aim of the project was to preserve the lake and its immediate surroundings. The site could thus be sustainably developed around three themes: the history of the site, the ecological value of the environment and the social value for the people of Brussels.
